116 Kentucky counties now declared drought disaster areas FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Governor Steve Beshear today announced more Kentucky counties have been classified as drought disaster areas by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. In a letter to the Governor, Sec. Vilsack declared an additional 68 Kentucky counties as primary disaster areas due to losses caused by drought that occurred April 1, 2012 and continuing. Cavey, I really hope things turn around for y'all. I know about drought and what it can do to an area. And it isn't good. Last year I was tote'n water for all the wild animals and birds. And we lost many big oak trees. CF

Bill, we did get rain, but it was much too late....so, the drought really hurt everyone.
