Shame ours are gone, vines are still there, might get a few more when it cools off. Wife has bought some at the store, taste like crap. Good score on the tomatoes. CF

That is a good price if they taste good. Think you can eat them all before they go soft?

After we gave a few to phriends, ate some, kept some to eat and the daugther took some home Momma made sauce with the rest....she made 4 gallons....not bad.

Wow phil,2.25 lb,GREAT!!!!!
We (Mom and Dad) used to buy damaged produce, over ripe maters by the box, then we would clean off bad spots and turn into canned veggie soups, lotta work, great soups!

So..I have had some pretty good sales on maters here. We have been to the co-op that we sell at..they had a box of little bitty maters..15 lbs. for $ 34.99. They were nothing like we grow & I doubt we would can them. We grow our own heirloom's because of the price others can & do charge for them. Plus we love the taste of them. Plus we couldn't afford the price of others produce. We charge $ 2.25 for some of very nice ones. We charge $ 2.00 a pound for the one's that are considered 2'nds. The co-op charges upwards of $7.50 a pound for heirloom's. So..while we have been very busy..we will catch our breath here in a while. Have to get that stove yet. We had the best poppers tonight. Huge peppers..& very tasty!! I have some for work. YAY!!
