Is there anyone else out there that is from NJ who suffered storm damage? If so are you near Monmouth County and do you need assistance?

None of these organizations that we all hear about are to quick to help those in need, so Ruth and I have been helping those in our area with what ever we could. Last year when Hurricane Irene hit. The river near us flooded over it's banks up to our neighbors first floor, and some young man had driven smack dab into that flood water stalling his car in waist deep water. We kept him safe in our home as well as feed him that entire day. I called emergency services and they did nothing more then ask is he safe in your home. I'm not posting this looking for praise, rather I want people to know those that are supposed to be there for us aren't what they always seam. You will here more often it's neighbor helping neighbor. There are lots of people in NJ that are homeless because of this terrible disaster that came in two major storms. The most helpful people have been those guys that work for the power utilities from many states. They deserve many thanks for there tremendous efforts to restore power to everyone in need. Folks you wouldn't believe all of the destruction these power companies had to deal with. Anyway my point was, don't think FEMA or the Red Cross is doing much to help here, as I said it's neighbor helping neighbor.

Thank you w8in4dave but we are fine. We have been very lucky as far as damage goes, nothing we can't handle. It's those that lost everything I am making reference to. I wish there was more we could do for them as well. God bless you for your good thoughts, they are well taken.
