I got Peter Peppers to sprout! Kenne has a nice sunny windowsil with electric baseboard heat right underneath! Yay for bottom heat. We have 21 varieties of tomatoes and 17 varieties of hot & sweet peppers (including the mirawrenniecherpeno for those of you that remember that one. Those seeds were quite a few years old too!)

I grew them a couple tears ago. There were as many off-types, as far as shape goes, as there were good ones. Biggest was only 3 inches or so.

Thats pretty darn impressive Yea it's a male thing....measuring that is. If i remember those were pretty hard to grow, and I had to nurse the few plants I had that year with compost and watering and fish formula. The seeds don't hold over that well either.

;)I'll have to take a couple pics of the ones i have growing. The past couple of years when i've planted them out, the darn squirrels have come along and dug out the plants and by the time i see them, they are too shrivelled to save!!

My new "gotta have it" item for my small garden is the shaker full of powdered Ghost pepper. If you have squirrels, cats, whatever that want to dig or otherwise trespass in amongst yer plants, dust 'em with the ghost, they'll go play somewhere else!

Man Penney, that sure is a good looking, and healthy, pepper plant you got there.
To keep unwanted varmits away from my plants, as well as protect them from the wind, until they are at least 12" tall, I put pepper cages, cut in half mater cages, around them and wrap plastic around the cages. I bury the bottom 1 - 2" in the ground. Has worked so far.

I started them around the first of February. Its the first time i havent grown them here, and they are doing really well. Here's a pic of an old Slovenian pepper that i got in a trade, not much info on it, other then its been in their village for years....kind of excited to try this one and see how much heat, if any at all, color, shape. I'll post some pics once its planted.
