Well next week I will have 24 new mater plants coming.Really happy about it too. 3 are varieties I grew in Michigan which I am thrilled about.the rest I have been wanting to grow for some time now.
Cherokee Purple x3 Marglobe Supreme x2 Jaune Flamme x2
Stump of the world x1 Mortgage Lifter 'Estler' x2 German Johnson x2 Costoluto Genovese x2 Gary O'Sena x1 Pruden's Purple x1 Pervaya Lyubov x3 Big Beef OP x1 BW Red 'Landis' 1 San Marzano x2 Mariana's Peace x1
Pretty cool huh? Now knowing these plants are coming what did my niece do? Her and my sister went to Wal-Mart and picked up 5 more. One a very nice Park's Whopper and a Big Beef Hyb.the other two are Brandywine and two Golden Jubilee. I am a bit concerned for the latter plants as the Brandywine looks stunted and the two Golden Jubilee are the same cuz they are in the same pot.I am pretty sure that they will come around with a shot of Neptunes harvest.

Pervaya Lyubov which translates as First Love was introduced by Dr. Carolyn Male via her annual seed offer on Tomatoville. This was a few years ago. From what I know it is a pink tomato.I forget what size Carolyn said it was but I am pretty certain it can be used for sandwiches.

Edit to note: Was looking at Tatiana's Tomato Base and stand corrected on where Carolyn listed her seeds. She first offered them in the 2009 SSE Year Book.Country of origin is Russia.

You bet I will.Plan on telling Carolyn too Also I am getting 4 varieties that came from Grunt and Grungy's collection. 3 of which I got directly from them but as luck would have it the seeds are still in Michigan with my main seed collection. So I may get these in time to have a fall crop. One is Giant Italian Paste is the only one to date from Grunt and Grungy I have grown due to the insanity that has vexed my family the last few years.Giant Italian Paste is a huge plum type fruit which has gotten to about 1/2 pound for me and the flavor is excellent. Can be used for anything in my opinion even mater sandwiches which is unusual to me as a lot of paste maters are not normally good for that.Certainly what I would expect from a good Italian tomato. I have some seeds too that came directly from Grunt and Grungy (amazing couple), one of these days i really need to sit down and organize all my seeds, they are such a mess.
I think I've grown the GIP here, not sure if the seeds came from G&G though, but an amzing tomato, be sure to post some pics when you get everything growing Kev!
