Hi all, I am home from the hospital. For all who do not know what happened here are the details. Late Monday night while my sister ,niece and I where on our way home from shopping my defibrillator zapped me 4 times about two min apart. being we where only a few min away from the hospital my niece took me to the hospital rather than wait up to 20 min for the ems. Doctors said the lower chamber of my heart was racing and prescribed a couple new meds to help my heart keep at the rate it is supposed to. So I was in three days . Had some totally awesome nurses and doctors so that really made the stay a lot more bearable.Gotta take it easy for a while.

It is great tech Spuds. One Doctor at the hospital in Hillsdale Michgan that I had when we lived there was very blunt about the outcome if I did not have the operation for it a few years ago. Darn thing nearly put me through the roof of the truck on the first jolt.Very scary but had some real pro's looking after me to get me through it all.

Yeah, and combined with a pacemaker in one doodad, its a true miracle for sure. Just my thoughts I think they should be required by law to be removed on death so they can help save others too.

I have had Afib since July 2010. So far only pills. And been told at top of that, can not have bigger dose. Nov over night in hospital in case. When I got the stitches put in cut on forehead.
Tech does keep changing. Glad you are okay. Fastest way here for me to get to ER is call son or DIL.

Hey Colorado you got yours about a year after me.. Btw I hope that nobody has to go through the stress test . No tread mill for me but God that stuff they inject you with to do the test feels like a ton of bricks on your body. They poked prodded and scanned me for two days and the third day they pretty much left me alone except to see if I needed anything and how I was feeling.

Klorentz I did have one of those, Because I had a broken wrist at the time. I felt really bad, because they had people alot older than me on the treadmill and here I was with a lil cast on my arm. But yea I was good but it still sucks!

Never had a stress test.
Caffeine will set me off or hot peppers. I have to be careful what I eat. Then watch the warfarin diet part. My heart top and bottom does not beat the same. Bottom faster.

I hear ya. While I still do drink coffee I cut way back on it. Rarely drink doctor pepper anymore cuz of the much higher caffeine content. Most soda I drink these days has none like 7-up,Vernors and root beer. I watch my hot peppers too. I do have jalapeno poppers from time to time which does not seem to bother me but always use mild salsa when I have my favorite Mexican foods.

Kevin 7 up has caffeine. You can get caffeine free drinks. Drinks are high priced flavored water. When I go to city for the day I carry my own drink. Water or make up a drink from a mix. 20 cents for 20 ounce bottle that way. We've had hard find drink with out caffeine.
I go on the senior bus to city once a week and we eat out. I order water. I never drink tea or coffee. Even dark chocolate a small piece will set it off.
I want my hot drink in the mornings and I drink Pero. But if gets much higher I may drink hot water, $10 only where I saw it. But two cups in the morning and it make a 133 cups.
I stick to my diet and go out on all day outings in the back country. Dr says do what I want.

7 Up does not have caffeine !! Never has had. Don't know where you may have heard that but it is not true.
I do agree tho with bringing your own water or whatever instead of buying soda.

Mike you are right. No 7up now has caffeine. But does/can have corn syrup and aspartame. So I still do not consider it safe to drink.
I have a insulate lunch bag and I can put bottle of ice in and bottle of drink in and stuff . Like when I have l have late morning Dr appointment and can not eat with the rest I will take sandwich and cookies for my lunch. One time I did not ended up with no lunch.

7 up does have corn syrup, no caffeine, If I drink soda, I drink Sierra Mist No Corn syrup, no Caffeine, But only 1 or two a month. Soda has alot of sugar and carbonation causes weight gain. I think thats why I lost so much weight. When I quit drinking soda.

www.7up.com/products/#/7up Yeah it does have corn syrup ( Wish they would stop). At the hospital they gave me Shasta lemon lime. That is a good one too at least to me. One I do not like is sprite. To me it always had a funky taste. Now you really want to talk about bad..........This chicken soup they kept bringing me. No flavor and Mrs Dash could not save it. But for the most part the food was good. I even got to have coffee once But I did cut back on a lot of things or stopped all together stuff I use to eat and drink in the old days. One type of Mrs Dash I like is Caribbean Citrus . We got it in Michigan a couple times and have not been able to find it since. Soooo I am looking to the net cuz Wal-Mart,Target and HEB all have the more common types. Not that some arn't good cuz they are I just could not develop a taste for the original blend. I went to their site and it seems they expanded their horizons in to a line of marinades and seasonings for tacos , Sloppy Joes and stew. Only one store here in Killeen has the latter seemingly and nobody seems to have the marinades.

The hospital kitchen here closes down for weekends. If anyone is there in time to get on list someone does come in and fix food. A nurse will try and find you some. Make a sandwich. ER is only place to go. I was not on list to have supper Sat but was Sun breakfast. I am low salt. Food okay what I had. Great breakfast and loads of it.
Shasta and big K are less carbonated, Some Dollar stores too. I rarely drink a soda.
I usually mix my own mixes, Lots are copies on web. I bought bulk spices. So many have so much salt. And I can do it with out salt. Mixes are handy to use. And they are darn high. I have not looked yet to see if that bulk type store has spices. Only in and out fast that day. Where I did buy closed. I have good spice shelf.

I did and Ebay. The prices except a few sellers where ungodly high. However I found a site in my search called salsa express and am researching what the cost is. To make it worth an order making gonna see what other goodies I can find . Most everyone in the house likes Mexican and Tex-Mex and they also have mixes for jumbolia, gumbo, and tortilla soup. I know I can have gumbo cuz they gave me some ( with oakra ) in the hospital last year when I had that bad allergic reaction to lisenopril. Anyway the gumbo was really good. My first time trying it and anything with oakra.

Ok that did not work so I gave Ebay one last try. I found a seller that charges about what most stores do. Shipping for first item 1.99 anything after that is .99 cents. So I hope I can still get it when my money comes next month.

If you read Colorado's sentence carefully: It says " No 7up now has caffeine" Which is correct but a little misleading because it implies that 7 up did have caffeine at one time. It never had caffeine.

7up did have one 7up variety that did have caffeine. Not on market very long. Regular 7up none, but it did have lithium (not spelled right)a mood drug in its early days. Which they took out.
Recipe for Mrs Dash is on internet. It has bunch of common herbs mixed. I have them all on spice shelf. I do have a marble mortor. Small rock bowl. I put the herbs and such in and rub it around and it get fine and blended. Then put in a spice jar.
Walmart was selling bags of Mexican spices and peppers in the Mexican section. I bought bags of dried whole peppers and divided with DIL.

OK-After some more research I found that 7 up did have lithium until 1950. Also, they made something called "7 up Gold" for a short while in 1988 and a soda called "dnL" (7 up upside down) for a year or 2 starting in 2002 that had caffeine. Regular 7 up never had it.
