Already off and running Penny. Knowing how fast Potato Garden runs out of sets every year I have my order somewhat reserved. Reason I say somewhat is they called and said they where not sure if they would have Red LaSoda and Butte but my fingerling I want will be for sure available and they will give me a buzz in April.

You know I was reminded that I should look at the Chili Pepper Institute site for some of my hot pepper needs.

@ Penny . Well I just had a bunch of seeds come in (flowers , veggies and herbs)and have a good batch of tomatoes mostly coming mostly Wednesday. They will be coming from Baker Creek , Carol Knapp , Tatiana's Tomatobase,Delectation of Tomatoes and Seeds from Italy. BC does not have my Kabocha Squash in stock so I will be giving Kitizawa Seeds a jingle next month. Also something new is an OP Bi-Color sweet corn called Double Standard and a pop corn called Robust. As soon as I get myself to do it I will type up a list of all the goodies I got. It's a long list

I decided on seeds! I have killed two Basil plants already! Wendy..killing houseplants this time of year is pretty common...even gets worse as the outdoor becomes more pleasant.. We had a pot full of Cilantro...after repeated attempts at letting it DIE..of thirst... it came back...just in time for Me...to need about 8 tablespoons of the herb.... then I unmercifully cut and whacked it...don't know yet if it will bounce back Herb Seeds can be a bit tricky...most we seed.. some..we purchase plants

It's a long list I'm afraid Kevin I have lost my faith in Bakers Creek.... Twice now I have ordered seeds ...just to have them turn out to be nothing like the variety I ordered... Then There was Dave-friend, partner in crime and former Phorum member who visited a mans farm that raised tomatoes for seed..For Bakers creek... what he observed was acres of tomatoes...all planted in the sprawling technique...all varieties...laying on top of each other.... I think Jere needs to spend more time checking his growers

I planted two lil pots of seeds and went to look for fresh BAsil at the store and they didn't have any all they had were potted plants, so again! I got one, this one is in an actual pot tho, the last ones were in a root ball in water. I potted them myself, so we will see, yesterday it was still alive!

Got some seeds in the mail to replace some of what was destroyed by the cats. Some varieties survived and we should still have some 20 varieties which I am happy with. mostly reds and pinks though. On a side note peppers came up real nice and are looking very strong. Only have one Reaper and one Lemon Drop though. Flowers for the most part are doing great for the except petunias . Marigolds, Pansies, Asters and Johnny Jump ups are going crazy. more to come along with a few herbs.

Everyone makes it look so easy! I plant it and bam it's dead! If this plant dies i'm just going to rely on the grocery store Basil!

Mrs bought 4 pots,i got 1 celery,3 chinese cabbage,7 lettuce, and 11 basil when I divided them up. Seeds sure are high! Bought mine end of season at dollar store, were 99/pack,not much inside, but sale price was 3 for a dollar, not too bad.

I have been getting Burpee seeds from Wally World for as low as 1.39 a packet Anyway we will be off and running Monday Afternoon as a nice gentleman here in Stryker will be coming to till the garden up for us. Tomatoes are ready to go.Peppers almost ready to go. Okra has leaf miners ( !@#$%^&^$$) Most flowers ready. Due to budget had to leave out potatoes and onion plants. Will have scallions though. Two additions to the pumpkin patch. One caught me by surprise. Was looking at the Burpee rack this morning and they had both Triple Treat and Big Moon. Had no idea Burpee was even selling Big Moon which I have not grown since 1979. It will be great to grow this giant again. That gives us 5 different pumpkins this year.

Well not everything I wanted to get was bought because our budget just would not allow it. But we have most of what we wanted and that is a good thing. As I mentioned Big Moon pumpkin was a very unexpected but welcome addition to the pumpkin patch.I hope to see a repeat of the reaction to this pumpkin I had in California. As far as being better prepared for 2017 I will just go ahead and save money towards next years seed and supplies so nothing will be left un-ordered.Also got to figure in fall bulbs and garlic too so we have a nice color show in the spring and good homegrown garlic too. It is just so nice to be able to have a nice garden with room again.Having so many good things to grow is a real blessing and if we get a good enough harvest we could share with some folks that will appreciate good homegrown veggies. I have not wrote down my list which is long lol but I think I just might get some pics and introduce you all to the things I will be growing as the grow and begin to produce. Oh btw I just about died of sticker shock looking at plants at Wal-Mart. 6 Wave Petunias at around 6.50 ? Seriously? About a 1/4 flat of marigolds one of the most popular common flowers out there at 8.49 ? Seriously? These plants where very healthy I will give the grower that much credit but not worth the price Wal-Mart is asking . There is something to be said for growing your own plants and yes I do have my own wave petunia starts along with marigolds and other flowers .
