We need another thread to discuss the show. used to watch Saturday Night Live.... problem is, even though it's on Saturday...it comes on 2 hours past bedtime here... there are nights when we see the first 10 minutes..maybe... but even on Saturdays, I am up at 6-7a.m. Laura maybe 7:45... then during market season...we are up on Sat. at 3:00a.m. start a thread so we can live vicariously through Ya'll  |

I have sorta been suffering from the earlier nights as well.
Been watching that on an off for years...the 50 year reunion show was a hoot.
Problem is, most of the "stars" and musical guests, I have no idea who they are......
Guess I'm getting old.
I do stay up late many times, but my tastes are more to the Discovery, History, NatGeo, and SyFi channels.
I didn't watch the program with that clip....but discovered it the next day....and couldn't resist.
Funny is still funny

I watched Naked and afraid the other day at a friends house! I'm just saying! If your going to go out in the wilderness naked for 21 days!! I think I'd fatten up a bit 1st, not start out skinny! OMG those two people were sticks when they walked out of there! Of course they were almost sticks walking in!

Well, If survival and using survival skills is the program...Naked and Afraid is more "real" than the other programs that have been on.
Watch for a while...and was surprised that so many people said they would never watch such "porn"....LOL...but will fill their days with other programming that is pure crap.
But when it comes down to it... seems there was more starving and drama than display of "skills"....but then again that may be more real than most would admit....is survival just dealing with what you been dealt?
Just for grins......just lay on you bed in your underwear.....at room temp...and see how cold you get before long....
But in this case it was just plain "Funny".

I think if a person were really in that situation how differently they would act. A lot of times the people on the show find water and stay in one place until day 21 when it's time to leave. I think if you thought this was your destiny you'd go out and hunt more and expand your horizon a bit in an effort to find food.

Alot of them are very good hunters and gatherers and are very highly trained, but not in the rain forest, naked! with no tools or supplies! I mean you take a mans tools away you take the man out of him! They have no idea if their going to a rain forest or to a desert it's crazy! My self even if I thought I could I wouldn't! Nooo way! especially some of them come back with , sores and shingles and stuff they take months to get over!

I think just the grind of finding calories, fire and drinkable water....and a shelter takes away much of the possible time need to hunting trips. Hard to say.....but just look at what you go thru in a day.....and everything including clothes are there for your use. We spend a whole lifetime gathering knowledge, skills and things to make life easier. Now do it with nothing. |
