So go online and go to the instacart site
www.instacart.com/grocery-delivery
Put in zip code and it shows if they deliver there, and if so from what stores. As it happens, all they have here is Stater Bros and thats a store we shop.
Set up account and they deliver to right inside your front door.Sis thinks its about 10 dollars a delivery,we pay that to the kids to haul our groceries into house when they are around.
So all i have to shop are meat sales, and produce, maybe canned veggies.Everything else they can deliver.Bulky stuff, heavy stuff, they can have all that business.
Hope I get a chance to use it,this will be a life improvement for sure

Instacart can have issues. Its a roll of the dice, and it looks like in reality 20 in fee's and lots of 10% or more for items they buy, billing issues galore, stolen, lost items issues and customer service is India and they just dont care.
Next to impossible to get money refunded if a debit card is used as they are credited instantly from your checking account.MUST use a credit card,if issue, just dispute it and its all taken care of,they dont get paid. And Im sure they are well known to all the card companies. Sounds like a real crap shoot yet sis doesnt have issues, loves it.
I will still try if I can and see for myself.Try twice and see.
Looks like wally the better option. You can still bargain hunt!
Walmart grocery is where you shop online, but you get it next day at store. They do all shopping, load your car,you dont even have to get out.You are just the delivery driver.
If you allow substitutions they will give you a better item for originals price, peeps say thats great. No fee's if you order 35 dollars, you get to shop all the bargains including rollbacks at the site. And they have EVERYTHING!
And the bill is exactly for what you ordered, they will show you order before you sign for it.I think I will take this route.I dont mind the drive overall,it gets us out.I dont mind the great value canned veggies as it will be used in dog food.
Here is what a sample order looks like
Your cart 57 items

Now that Im seeing choices letting the store push around a loaded cart that will help a lot of us.Its shop, unload at checkout, load car, unload car....all reduced to unload car is a big deal for me. It was pushing a heavy cart all day with meds and computer that really finished off my back.Last 2 years I did that. You are lucky to have an Aldi's. A nice savings and halfway decent foods in some areas. Cant believe I will be a Wally customer.Dont like the family, hate the stores but have to be pragmatic about it.I like being able to stand and walk too.Going to be a huge load off my back, thats the trade off.

My daughter says sometimes there's a problem with substitutions like if you order Dove Shampoo for Curly Hair and they're out of it you might get just plain Dove Shampoo instead of another shampoo for curly hair. One of her children has sensitive skin and can only use unscented stuff but if they're out of unscented they'll throw in a larger size (cuz they're doing you a favor giving you a larger size) but it will be scented.

How the Walmrt delivery is going.Ordered DEC 10.
You get emails when something is processed and when its shipped.I get email that dog food is being shipped. From KANSAS,50 lbs, that seems dumb.
Next email DEC 11 is Dog food delayed.Last night DEC 11,email shipped from the Bloomington Wally,30 miles away. That makes sense.
First delivery.Today, dog food is at the gate.FEDEXDelivered DEC 12.
Tomorrow I should get the bulk of order most all from the Bloomington Wally. Will be interesting to see what all makes it in that delivery.Final package is Russel Stover candies and TP.No idea when, just says before DEC 18
OK,Ivory soap came from Kansas, its in Bloomington FEDEX now.Arrives tomorrow,Friday12/13,as well most of order shipped from the Bloomington Wally that is also in Bloomington FEDEX right now.
Assorted candy from Texas,in pipeline,Arrives Saturday 12/14.Toilet tissue and Russel Stover candy shipped from Nevada today, arrive before DEC 18,I will guess much sooner.
Sounds involved,to me its shipping fast and efficiently, impressed so far.Last delivery all came in 2 days, not bad.

Hoping the free delivery works well for you. My daughter picks up but at least one of my nieces has delivery and likes it. ------------------ Wow they deliver or you’d have to drive 90 miles. Can you store them in drawers? I think it’s worth getting an incorrect item once in a while to save that drive. Wally doesnt have grocery delivery in my area so I didnt research it.
I agree, delivery isnt perfect but it beats the heck out of shopping it in the traditional manor. The time and expense you skip is tremendous. We have gone to high tech mail order, gotta love it!
I think Wally is putting in the system for grocery shopping from stores that will be the standard. That pick up service is really growing and the word is getting out. Many stores are trying it,but they have extra charges and other nonsense, like needing a subscription card ie Costco and Sams.
Wally is making it painless and seamless from regular shopping where you fill the cart, thats just a waste of time and effort.Let the young and strong handle that.
Now when Wally figures out cheap home grocery delivery for all, watch out World. The paradigm has shifted. This is where they beat Amazon, their grocery prices are high,Wally is low price leader in that segment.
Who else can deliver 50lbs name brand dog food for 22.98 to your door?I dont think anyone else can.Gotta love it,saved me a lot of money, heavy lifting and heavy cart pushing,2 no-no's for me and increasingly for Mrs.I just had to drag it inside,Im loving it!!

No,not delivered for groceries from grocery.walmart.com/ thats a store pick up for me.No charge for that.
The non perishables are free delivery mostly by Fedex from walmart.com 35 dollar minimum orders from either site.Only issue is your delivery order may come in 2-3 separate deliveries. They need to improve on that, they are learning, each order get better.

I think it bad that the We and even the world, can get too much brought to Us, The powers to be already try to dumb Us down with movies or video games, all available with a click nowadays, Drugs, sugar, fake news, ....the list goes on. All which make Us inactive and big Ol Lumps. Incapable of many things. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your views on this. Out where we are, I'd be happy if anything could be delivered someday...but, nothing will come out here except the US Mail. I think of the case of My Dear Mother. My brother, without wanting to, or meaning to, practically killed my Mom. He stayed with her into his 30's. Took up doing everything for Mom, she needed dinner, he went and got it (fast food mind You) she needed coffee, he made it...She needed to shop...he did it. As the years went by, Mom pretty much stayed on her couch, watching TV, and after a couple years, she could hardly walk, I went to get her for Christmas dinner one year, she needed help being steady enough to walk 25 foot to the car, shaking and scared. Soon Mom gave up, everything except lying on the couch, weak coffee (brought to her) and crossword puzzles. So I will leave my thoughts here, today, 10°, before Laura leaves for work We will go to town (18 miles), shop 3 stores, comeback home unload and bid my wife goodbye until 11:38 tonight. If not for this trip, I would not go anywhere at all, unless it was for a walk during the winter...I need the trip/exercise...

A friend said the same. This is what I replied to him below.
You dont get UPS or Fedex?I thought they went everywhere.
Do you feel that way about Amazon or Ebay? Most folks love them. Its a new paradigm. --------------------------- I wonder when someone will sit down and figure out how much fuel and man hours are being toasted in order to accomplish all this wonderfulness? -------------------------- Reply-Well Wallys trucks run 24/7,they never stop.Only the loads change, the truck routes just go on and on.Makes no matter if its carrying candy for me or trashbags for Fred.Stores get restocked on a store by store basis every day with goods from around the Country and around the World.Im not adding to or changing the supply chain thats already in place. You know we run on trucks, have for last 100 years, nothing new.
And delivery, better mileage when they deliver to a lot in one trip vrs singular shoppers.Im not the only person they deliver to on that 30 miles from B-town Wally, yet if everybody made that same trip, delivery is far more efficient Im thinking?
If it keeps me mobile by not being crippled by stores,it makes a lot of sense.
Plus the time saved.Say 50 shoppers all spend 90 minutes each thats 75 hours that a truck can deliver in 10? Savings and efficiency are there I think.Fewer road trips, money and lives saved in the real world.Could be wrong, just seems it works.
IMO its the Sears and Monkey Wards catalog all over again..... Déjà vu all over again
I see it as the best thing since sliced sourdough bread. And I dont like change, but some I do.This old is new again shopping is good in my opinion. The super market model was a good change, now this is the move on from that.
Ever been to Walmart? Hell on freakin Earth! Let me shop from my house,a much more pleasant place to be.AND get great prices too? AND stick it to Amazon and their world domination plans? It works for me on many levels.
Would Spuds shop at Walmart? NO WAY! Absolute last resort but for the garden center, pretty well stocked and you dont have to go in store. . Would Spuds shop at Walmart.com? Weeeell......yup!

So we cant find a coffee cup to fit the teeny cupholders in Lexus. We shop everywhere and go figure, its Wally where we find one that fits.4 dollars for 4 of them.BPA free plastic with a good lid.I drink most all my coffee now with this cup,I REALLY like it,as same with Mrs.
Fast forward 2 years and down to 3.I decided to get more.Guess what, they dont have em any more.
A couple sellers on amazon,15-20 dollars for 4.Not happening.
Go on ebay, find 4 for 10 dollars, delivered.Dig in a little more and found these. Now if ebay werent around I couldnt have found any period, instead, shopping from home I find new old stock(NOS) of an item no longer made. $17.87 with Ca tax and shipping.
I love it.Now when I send someone home with a hot drink they get a great coffee cup too.

BOF,is this what your relative uses for home delivery?
Heres Wallys newest delivery grocery scheme. The questions I have is do you get Walmart prices on orders? Or is like Instacart at 100 dollars a year but where YOU dont shop the retailers site, you shop THEIR site to the retailer, and their app prices are higher than store prices. And charge a premium on every item they buy and charge it to you?
If Wally doesnt scam it like instacart and others do,$98 a year for true unlimited delivery of groceries, this is a deal. Also, what about frozen, refrigerator goods? Are they equipped to handle them, special delivery vehicles?
No Wally on mtn so doubt I will ever see this, but if it does come here I will try it.98 dollars for a years grocery delivery is cheaper than I can drive it in gas costs alone. ==============================
Walmart launched an unlimited grocery delivery subscription service for $98 a year By Andrew Liptak@AndrewLiptak Jun 16, 2019, 11:42am EDT
Walmart has introduced an unlimited grocery delivery service called Delivery Unlimited, as spotted by TechCrunch. The service is an expansion of the company’s existing delivery and pickup efforts, and costs $98 a year.
The company already offered a delivery service for online orders: customers could have items shipped to their nearest store for free, or to their home for a $9.95 delivery fee for each order. TechCrunch notes that this new annual subscription will cost $98 for a year, or $12.95 a month, and allows customers to skip the per-order fee. To use it, customers place their order on Walmart’s site or app, and can select a delivery window for when they want their order delivered.
This annual service comes as Walmart has introduced a number of other initiatives to try and entice online shoppers to its stores, including introducing free, one-day shipping for orders over $35, pickup towers a number of its stores, and even an in-home delivery service that will allow employees into your house to place groceries directly into your refrigerator.
Walmart has been stepping up its efforts against other online retailers in recent months, and Amazon’s Prime membership appears to be the target here. Walmart’s annual fee is lower than Amazon’s $119 annual cost, while Target’s new delivery service with Shipt costs $99 a year, as well as Instacart.

Online grocery shopping big growth numbers --------------------------- The portion of people purchasing groceries online from Walmart in particular grew to 37.4% this year from 25.5% in 2018, a notable jump,Coresight said, in surveying 1,888 adults in the U.S. this past April.
Here’s how Walmart’s new, in-home delivery will work:
Customers wishing to use the service must have Walmart install a smart lock on the outside of their home or garage.
Then, they can place a grocery order from Walmart.com or the Walmart mobile app, selecting “InHome Delivery,” along with a specific delivery day, at checkout.
They can opt to have orders delivered straight to the kitchen or to the garage.
A Walmart employee will then be assigned to do the grocery shopping.
At the scheduled delivery time, the assigned Walmart worker will use a proprietary, wearable camera device and enter a one-time code on a smart lock to access the customer’s home. This allows the customer to control the worker’s access into his or her home, and offers one the ability to watch the delivery remotely.
“Once we learned how to do pickup well, we knew it would unlock the ability to deliver,” CEO Doug McMillon said during an event with members of the media. “Imagine keeping homes in stock like we do stores.”
Walmart isn’t detailing the additional price of the in-home delivery service to shoppers until this fall, when it launches.
And for Walmart, “you might think it’s a lot more expensive ... the time to get [groceries] into the fridge,” he said in an interview. “But we can batch the deliveries.” And so, “the actual delivery cost is a lot cheaper, [and] that offsets the timing to go into the home and fridge,” he explained.

Colorado, we do stock up as much as space in our very small house allows (without becoming a episode on Hoarders) Amazon, Yes, I/We do shop Amazon quite frequently. However, Availability is an issue here where we live. Most gardening needs, Household gizmos/gadgets, Auto, etc. are in limited supplies, if, they even have them (or heard about them) I have lived within 15 miles of a small town of 12000 peeps, and had much better luck purchasing items we need and use, than here, a mere 40 minutes from Minneapolis. Minneapolis ( Murderopolis)is a town I have been to, but Laura won't go there at all) We just don't like city pholk, or the crowds But as I was saying the availability and selection are really poor here. Even stymied by in store wants and needs sometimes. Yesterday, we went to Aldi's.... so on the 13th, Our local Aldi, and the one 20 miles away in another town were SOLD OUTso in this case...online would be great...ifin they drove out here to deliver. So I agree online ordering- with delivery would be nice in respect to selection and availability. But as far as contact with the vtrtual ZOO out there in the stores... I shop with intent. Script our list accordingly.. items on list per store layout, in one door, out the other, avoid eye contact, don't talk to anyone unless confronted...In/Out...done BUT THEN...there is always the chance the store changes their layout...and then I get to be a bit (*&$%^ Ebay, (they still in business?? LOL) have had a few dealings with them back in the day, had mostly bad results...

Ordered on DEC 10,all here by DEC 14
1st delivery Wednesday the 11th, 50 lbs dogfood .No issues at all. They couldnt decide where to ship it from, came from local warehouse in the end.
2nd delivery was 2 boxes on Friday the 13th.Box with liquid laundry detergent was in bad shape, both ziplock baggie packages were squished, had to tape boxes back. All else traveled OK though box was a crushed, split disaster that looked like it was taped up enroute. They really overloaded it with weight.Poorly done on that one.I will be sure to give feedback on that.
This is what was delivered Friday. From local warehouse
Ivory Ultra Concentrated Dishwashing Liquid Dish Soap, Classic Scent, 24 fl oz $2.67 2 $5.34 Came in its own form fitting box
Husky Tall Kitchen Expandable Drawstring Trash Bags, 13 Gallon, 144 Count $13.47 2 $26.94
Persil ProClean Stain Fighter Liquid Laundry Detergent, 150 Fluid Ounces, 75 Loads $15.97 1 $15.97
Great Value Double Zipper Storage Bags, Quart, 120 Count $4.84 1 $4.84
Great Value Fresh Seal Double Zipper Storage Bags, Gallon, 80 Count $4.27 1 $4.27
Jolly Rancher Sugar-Free Assorted Flavors Hard Candy, 3.6 Oz. $2.48 1 $2.48
3rd delivery Saturday the 14th last 2 boxes (of the candy and Scott TP) arrived in 2 boxes.Well packed,no issues..Came from Nevada and Texas to local warehouse to me
Scott 1000 Toilet Paper, 20 Rolls, 20,000 Sheets $13.97 1 $13.97
Russell Stover WOW Assorted Chocolates Gift Box, 40 Piece $9.98 1 $9.98
Hershey's Snack Size Assortment Chocolate Candy, 32.34 Oz. $8.98 1 $8.98
Overall for value and convenience they delivered. You get Wallys in store prices, free delivery and never have to visit their crummmy store. Its a winner.
I look forward to trying the free online grocery shopping with the store pickup.Drive up,they load car,on your way. That has to beat shopping it yourself.

Yeah, ebay alive and well.Only thing ever burned on was a non working transistor radio.Had a dicey expensive purchase that FINALLY came thru.Other than that,Ive bought expensive items and no problems. The personal ratings are key.And dont buy from someone with 100 percent good ratings selling 2 dollar items who is now selling a few things for 1000+,thats a scammer red flag scenario.
Happy with the latest Wally order.
I talk to lots of people when shopping. Was waiting for Aldi's to open and talking to a guy about my age.Turned out he raises Greyhounds and told me his homemade dog food included the cheap bulk carrots that he shreds into it.Says dogs love em.Very cool!
I talk to peeps in checkout lines too.Or waiting at the meat counter.Have met the nicest people and seen some smiles that light up a room.VERY cool.
I avoid peeps in parking lots.Scary types hanging around, want no part of it.
I address checkers by their name, and I sincerely say thank you for your time, help, whatever to every person working that I interact with.Good Karma being nice to folks.Might cheer someones day,who knows, cant be bad anyhow.
Phil,I so dislike having to go to big city.Big city desert I avoid like the plaque, generally just dont like a lot of peeps there,is what it is.

If youre thinking thats crazy shipping, its not. Those trucks run their routes 24/7,whether its hauling my package, or yours to local store, all of us get our goods from all over the country as wally and everyone else parcels out to various areas and warehouses and stores.
Does the whole product delivery scheme sound wasteful, probably is vrs local goods, but what can you really get made locally? Not much.
Thats my take on the whole rigamarole,I like it overall.
1-Great prices
2-Home delivery free
3-Shop from comfort of my home, not with lowlifeville at Walmart
4-Im not shopping for exercise,I get all I can handle right here at home
5-No heavy lifting
6-No pushing heavy square wheeled crappy carts 50 miles (as i say,not shopping for the exercise)
7-No unloading at checkout,no loading and unloading car,no driving,no car expenses
8-No screaming back pain
9-No major 1 day shopping at 5 stores, too much for us overall anymore, and nice not having car expenses that has put us in major shop at 1 time mode
10-Final delivery from warehouse-Fedex and UPS drive by my house daily, once a day.Doesnt change costs, doesnt use more fuel whether they stop for me or not, they are going to be on my street almost every day regardless. And all 5 close neighbors all order tons online too.Its the future. Here now.
11-Yup,its all right in my book,I cant change how they deliver so I'll just go with the flow.If I didnt use it the system will still be doing what it does.
12-Did I mention NO SCREAMING BACK PAIN??

Most gardening needs, Household gizmos/gadgets, Auto, etc. are in limited supplies, if, they even have them (or heard about them) If you get fedex you will get walmart .com for non perishable goods, like my order you should be able to do? Walmart.com is mostly fedex in my experience.Just like Amazon and ebay in that respect. Wally doesnt deliver the goods,at least not here.
Walmart Grocery is a whole different deal and site.Grocery delivery is still pretty limited.Pick up alive and well.
Yeah,Aldis meats get there at opening been my experience. We made Aldis our first stop.

Spuds you rotate the food First in first out
True.I use these shelves even.We have several of these.
Food storage management has never been easier thanks to the Harvest 72”. Featuring patented front-loading technology that automatically rotates cans on a first in first out basis, the Harvest 72” is the largest, most popular food rotation system offered by Shelf Reliance. This FRS is easy to adjust for different can sizes and boasts the capacity to hold up to 450 soup size cans. With its easy-fit design and unique features, the Harvest 72” makes food storage management a breeze.
Holds up to 450 cans Front loading & space efficient Stores cans from mushroom to gallon size Can width is adjustable
But the square cans just sat, didnt get eaten at all, just stored.Interesting some same looking items are miles apart, like Spam stores Great,Armour meats dont.
We have a goodly supply of things I would say.Maybe too much now as you say.
