It's been threatening to shower all day and nothing yet, I'm still watering the garden with a hose and sprinkler head, man totin this thing around is getting tiresome. Cut garlic scapes on one of the earlier verities of garlic this morning. they almost filled a half bushel basket. I made pesto out of them... man is it good. I sure hope we get those showers or ill be out there tomorrow morning watering by hand again.

Gidday
Well we have had quite a bit of rain. Since Monday we had had nearly half out yearly rain. I have spent the afternoon manning the Civil Defence radio as there has a bit of flooding and the main road has been blocked. We had about 150 people stranded for a few hours but she is all gone now.

We are under a tornado watch here also, it's 91° rite now and supposed to drop to 56° tonight so I suppose that is why they are suspecting tornadoes. It's pretty windy sure hope we don't get a tornado...it would be a first for this area however we did have one a few years back about 6miles from here in the next town.

Saturday it hit 100F. The first time this year. It normally doesn't get that hot until July. The average high is 86F and no rain. Guess I need the rain dance girls to do their rain dance for me. Hay Jack. I sure could use some of your snow to cool it down here.

I'll send you some hot dry weather if you will send some rain down my way. I have had a grand total of about 1.5 inches since April. The cracks are getting wider and deeper every day. The last rain fall we got was a whooping 1/4 inch. We are now about 5.5 inches below normal for the year. It can be pouring in Dallas and not a drop where I live. I am about 30 miles north east of Dallas.

It's been a dry week here too, but to tell ya the truth with the sandy loom we have here for soil I would much rather water for the sake of the tomatoes. I think they do better in dryer conditions. fella up the road has picked 1-1/2 bushels of tomatoes so far.

There was half an inch of ice on top of a container of rainwater this AM, so the tomatos are toast! Someone in my state asked on line if frost could be rinsed off of the garden to save the plants: I sure hope her area of Kansas was warmer than mine because she has headed out to save her garden......... For me it is not a frost! Good luck to her!
I am lucky to have had one for this late in the year.
