Yesterday I picked enough cukes to make a couple batches of pickle relish (posted somewhere here), a phew yellow squash and 2 zukes, and a couple tomatoes. Plan to pick some snap beans today. Some of my garlic is ready to dig up. Got supper in the makin. trudy

I will, but gotta wait now for the next batch to get ready. Made 3 batches of relish yesterday. This morning gotta work in the yards before it gets to hot, catch up on some planting (flowers) I've put off. Sure could use some rain to make it easier digging. trudy

biscombe you'll be busy soon enough from the looks of your garden pics I've seen. Gotta love the fruits of our labor. I got some more jelly done today while it was so hot outside.
We got a really good rain tonight so guess tomorrow I'll be back planting what I had to put off today. Earlier I walked outside to the shed and it felt like I had walked into an oven it was so hot an humid. Still got some gingers, philipine lilly, a couple of ferns and dwarf mondo grass to plant, think I'll be done for awhile....I hope. trudy

Think you've done planting and take a look around the corner to discover a whole load of stuff waiting to go out!!!! still to plant leeks, celery, and got some more lettuce seedlings! I always plant in pots first, not had much success direct sowing The forecast said rain here today but looks very unlikely!!!!! Gingers sound interesting, tell me more .....

For our celery this year i'm trying sumthin that an older fella told me. You know those clay feild tiles, he said to put one over the seedling and it will grow ya some oph the best celery. He said it will reach fer the sun, and the clay tile keeps the plant cool. So we're givin' it a try

Missed gettin' any celery started, and phindin' celery plants (starts) is about as tuff as phindin' Sweet Tator slips here in Mini-Soda Tiles work great, I have also planted a border crop around the celery also, to block the light coming in from the sides, spaced correctly they will blanch out well in the center rows this way
