Ok, heres what I got, every year I grow sweet corn and the end of the rows are the only places where I get corn and in the center they fizzle out, what am I doin wrong I plant the rows about a yard 1/2 apart, and the plants are about a foot apart in threes

Is the center of the garden drier than the rest? I plant my corn in rows about 24" apart and 12" between plants. The only thing I can think of is the ground is dring out to much in the center and the ends are getting moiture from the yard around it. As far apart as they are the sun may be "bakeing" the roots because there is no cover from the leaves to shade them.

I normally use a soaker hose along the rows and water them every 1-3 days as they need it, and the plants seem to be fine I may try sowing the rows in the same way the sun comes up to see what happens I know one year I planted single hills at the end of the rows of other plants and had 2-3 ears per plant, but I also dumped alot of compost around the hills too
