I don't have a clue how organic this soap is, but recently I found a large amount of those lupper (Ga. thumper) grasshoppers in one of my flowerbeds. I've been told the only way to get rid of them was to stomp/smashum. I remember momma having them and they would eat everything in site and no kind of chemical would touch them. If yawl up north don't have these, thank your lucky stars cause they are a big nuisance to a gardener. Anyway right now they WERE only about an inch long, so I mixed some of this up with some water and sprayed them and it worked. In about 15 seconds they were dyeing. . I think I got them all, now I'm on a mission everytime I go outside I have my spray bottle with me, armed and ready. My boss told me he used it to kill those pesty big cock roachs. The cockroaches lungs are on their underside and you have to be sure to get the MOS there. In ten min. their dead cause it suffocates them. Think it would hurt to use it on my peas for aphids? trudy

anytime you use pesticides you run the risk of also killing your benificials like lady bugs, for example, or bees

All the info I've phound on Murphys oil soap, leads to the conclusion that is not organic or natural. The Sodium EDTA has an FDA listing as a mild pesticide. The Propylene Glysol has a toxic listing. It has been found in 34 of the nations most toxic areas. So I personally would not use it on any oph my plants. We don't use it in the house here, but iph we did I think this info would cause us to stop using it. Sorry it took so long phor one oph us organic people to reply, but I wanted to do some searching before commenting. Hope this helps yawl out

Thats why we're phamily CF! Gotta help each other out.............And keep bad chemicals OUT oph our foods! Anything with a "HAZARD" warning is not good. Don't have a bottle to check, but, I'm sure there's one on it.

Thanks Crazy, I did look for a label of ingredients and unless I overlooked it I didn't see it. I'll stick with using it to zap those grasshoppers. T

I have never heard of this being used; however, A breakdown of this posting and knowing basically whats in it, I would say the effect it gives you is very basic, and can be acheived with other combimations. Propylene Glycol, is a bad rabbit for humans...use at your own risk, But, they are using that as a surfecant. immunotoxicants adverse effects on the functioning of the immune system
Neurotoxicant can cause adverse effects on the nervous system
Stating that the area where the insects breathes is the target, any type of oil will work,
Mix a 1% to 2% solution of regular hand soap or detergent (I like Kirks Castile soap) kill insects, mix in mix 1/4-1/2 tsp canola oil, and you have a safe , effective solution

I'm not really sure about that. The soap will "mix" with the water, I don't belive oil will.
