How do you get the moonflowers to come back? I have to buy new seed every year! Or else buy the plants from the nursery. Mine never self-sow.....I would love it if they did. I love anything that smells wonderful! And I especially love Moonflowers, Nicotiana, Trumpet Flower, and Four'o'Clocks.
Of course, I can't forget my all time favorite, Roses, which I just can't seem to get growing in this yard at all. I think it's just too wet for them here, and not enough southern exposure.

Well, the flower looks the same, but the leaves look different. I think the moonflowers I have are more related to the morning glory plant, but the flowers only open at night, not during the day, and the fragrance is very heavy. They grow on a vine.
I have a few growing now, not in bloom yet, but I can take some pictures anyway. Different variety maybe?

If it's the vine type you must collect the seeds at fall for next spring but the pod type will come up like grass in the late spring

Thanks for posting those sites Jean. That was some good info! I've been wondering about the moonflower, and am hoping to find a nursery here that has them for my yard!
