HELP!!!! I don't know if it is the darn heat, the soil here, or what but my okra has only gotten about 5 inches high in a month.
When I grew it back home it really took off. Can anyone tell me what I might put on it to make it grow? Miracle Grow hasn't done much.

Have ya beat it? Thats what the old timers around here say to do. NO KIDDING! lol!! They tell me that if your not mean enough it won't grow well and to smack it around a bit. It could be the soil, variety? ?? I'll leave that to the experts here. trudy

Mine grew and got leggy and tall for a long while, with no sign of pods....Then I read the thing about beating the okra.....I crap you not, I started to turn my hose nozzle on the leaves in the morning, so that they went every which way.....I now have some pods almost an inch long. Bout dang time, if ou ask me! Try it! Dunno if that's why it happened, but it did and I'm going with that as the reason.
