For the second year in a row my lacy cosmos are big, and ferny but no sign of flowers. These are the purple, lavender or white ones, not the yellow or orange ones. I use lots of compost made from chicken, duck or pony pooh. My guess is I need more potassium and phosphorus to offset all the nitrogen in my compost. I added bone meal in the soil around the base of the plants. Anything else I can do ?

Just a guess here but some plants need to be stressed out some before they decide they better bloom. What I mean by this is let them dry out a bit to the point of becoming wilted, but not to the point of no return will at times trigger them into blooming. A survival thing to reseed themselves I suppose. Or they may have a longer maturity date and your zone (I don't know the zone) isn't long enough for them to get to that point before frost gets them. Sorry not much more help, perhaps someone that knows those particular cosmos will come forward. trudy

Question for the moderator. My 2 pics are showing as links only. Are they too big? If so, what size should I make them so I don't use too much space or break any rules?
