Interesting! Learn something new everyday! Sorry I have no idea why a chicken would kill a bird, unless the wren got in the way??

I'll try giving them raw burger. They are so aggressive.....I hope that is all that it was. That they are just overly aggressive towards things. They attack the cat and my feet. They also chase the kids. Kinda gross to see them killing something, tho.

I wouldnt worry to much, my chickens did the same. Ofcorse i've kill them (ha ha) Some breeds make good watch dogs while others make good pets. It just sounds like your chickens are very territorial of there space. If you do have young ones and your worry about them getting pecked I would make lots of chicken pot pie. You could always raise more. Adelita

Nature of the beast. Some chickens are more aggressive than others. kinda like humans and other animals. What breed of chickens do you have?

I once had a Polish that would hunt moles, caught a few too. Chickens are also very cannabilistic too and will peck at the color red, if that happens to be a spot of blood on another chicken they usually won't survive the attack.

Think of your chickens as small, feathered dinosaurs. They'll eat anything they can.

I meant to tell everyone that I spoke with my mom and she told me to give them a hotdog from time to time and it would help with their aggressive behavior. It worked until I think they figured out that if they misbehaved(read that- chased me around the yard attacking my feet) I would go in and get a hotdog to make them behave again......smart birds I have- they trained me well!
