Ok Pull up a chair and kick your boots off and hug the pot belly stove and I will tell you all about my exciting trip to the hills of West by god Virginia!!!
We left Indiana around 2 pm on Friday evening took 8 hours to get to WV pretty uneventful traveling down except I forgot to mention the Bassett hound came into heat and the pit bull was throwing a fit the whole way!
Sat. Morning we got up at 6 am to go take the boy to his uncles and see my other son, Got to uncles house and his Boxer thought he needed to fight our dog so son had to separate the two, ( all over the Bassett , Whom had on her Santa coat and was loving all the attention!! ) We then went to see my other son and drop off Christmas presents, then on to Buckhannon which is another hour & a half north ( mind you we had already traveled 3 hours to drop off the boy ) Got to my sisters and got to see my New Nephew ( Whom by the way doesn't look nothin like a troll !! ) ( My Sons words from the pic. we had received) Spent 3 hours with her going through mums trunk and such .. By then it was 3:15 when we had to leave.... Got back on the road and drove back towards mums... On the road going to Alderson you have to watch for deer so it was just that lovely time of dark when it is hard to see.. When we thought it was a deer up in front of us but the dang thing jumped upward and we almost hit its feet! Here it was a big blue Heron! I thought it looked like a pterodactyl! LOL ... We went on through Alderson and up the mountain then we have to take a 30 min. drive on a winding one lane road called Creamery road.... You have to go slow because it is a sheer drop in a lot of places and the road has drop offs where the berm has washed away, and really sharp curves..... Oh and did I mention deer like to cross the road ALOT!!!! We were coming up to this really steep part of the road where on one side is the mountain and the other is a straight drop down to a really pretty field ... We came around this curve to the left and then it switches back to the right, we were going real real slow when all of the sudden not more then 5 -8 feet in front of us was this huge black thing! With a purty white face!!! Some ones big ole bull had got loose and was moseying up the road like no ones business! Beautiful bull! He was waaay bigger than my van thats for sure!!!! Hubby slowed to a stop and the bull walked past the van and looked in the window then moved on! We were laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes!! I told him ok,,,, We had a pterodactyl almost hit us, then a monster of a bull,, It always comes in threes what could possibly be next? Well the rest of the trip on the back road was fine and no more surprises.. We were about 5 miles from the house when a 4 raccoons ran across in front of us. So there was the third thing! made it home and had a good laugh and got up 8 am the next morning and drove home took us from 9 am to 6pm to get to muncie... Rained the whole way ! sometimes so hard you couldn't see the road. Luckily we were on 35 all the way and it is a byway so not quite so busy... But it was boring cause hubby drove the truck and I drove the van so no one to talk to. but one good thing he took the Bassett hound so the pit bull slept most of the way!
well I hope you all enjoyed my little telling of my trip home! Have a warm day!!!! ;D
