Does anyone hunt old bottles here? Just starting this hobby and wondering how to find best places to dig?

Does anyone hunt old bottles here? Just starting this hobby and wondering how to find best places to dig? Old cisterns on abandoned farms (get permission, and make sure someone knows you're there working) folks used to dispose of glass bottles in their cisterns...they will yield many bottles

I agree with the ol' wise one Pharmer Phil on that cistern. Likewise areas on old homesteads they used as their dump areas. I've located several of those and located old medicine and spirit bottles buried along with pieces of china and crockery, etc. The hunting is always fun to me, even when ya don't come up with all that much. Happy hunting.

Old town or village dump sites. In the hill next to my house I've found a few things while digging in new flower beds. I dont know where the original outhouse was but I will guess on that hill.
