The peaches are ripe in our area, and one of our friends owns a huge orchard, people can pick their own, and the peaches are sooooo good. The price is $38 a bushel this year. I will have to wait till they are falling off the trees, then they lower the price. Nothing sweeter than a beautiful, warm, fuzzy, juicy peach right off the tree. They also sell Christmas trees, black-eye peas, corn, etc. Take a tour of their place....just beautiful. www.childressfarm.com Peach Custard Pie 6 large peaches 2 eggs, slightly beaten 3/4 cup sugar 1 TBSP Cornstarch Pinch of salt 1 1/2 cups milk 1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell Slice the peaches and arrange them in the pie shell. Combine the other ingredients and pour over the peaches. Sprinkle the top with some cinnamon or nutmeg. Bake for 5 minutes at 450 degrees, then lower the temperature to 350 degrees and bake for about 45 minutes.

I'm right there with ya Cavey. I'm sitting here in Possum Junction anxiously waiting for our peaches to ripen.
