those of you that happen to be in his path, please stay safe. Evacuate if you are so advised. Let's hope he fizzles out before he does anymore damage. My thoughts and prayers are out there for you!!!

I am dreading this one. Got a feeling that my vacation home on Galveston Island may get get damaged this time. Looks to be a bad hurricane. Maybe I will get some rain here from the storm. It is supposed to go over the Dallas area next week.

This is Compost Pharmer checking in. All is well here in the Dallas area. I received a little over 3 inches of rain today. I am dreading to think of what condition my house, in Sea Isle, Galveston Island, is in, if it still exists. Sea Isle is on the west end of the island.

Glad to hear you are OK. Hopefully being on the west side of the island will be a good thing. Best of luck to you!

No not yet. We can pick up KHOU, Houston TV on one of the HD channels here in Dallas, and the helio fly overs never seem to go far enough west to the subdivision that my house is in. No one is allowed back on the island yet. I heard it may be weeks before the electricity, water and sewage is working again. We were planning on going down the weekend of October 3, but that is not looking to good at this time.

Have not been down to look at my house, since the 'Look and Leave' was canceled, because some people came but did not leave. This is the South side, front, of my house. The one on the right of the pic. It looks OK: The North side, back, left on pic, does not look so good. Looks like the 1st floor on slab was blown out: I saw the NOAA satellite pic that looks like my back yard is full of debris. Looks like some siding is missing. Much better condition then some others. I am glad that we were on the left side of the hurricane. The water came in from the bay, north, and not the gulf. We were both relieved that the big picture window was not broken.
