Hello I have a question on digital cameras, I thought I saw where someone posted some info on them recently , but I can't find it . I am looking to buy one and I am curious if anyone has heard of a "Traveler DC8900" dig. cam. ? It has 8 megapixels , 3x optical zoom/ 4x digital zoom , 3.0" LTPS-TFT color display, video function, face detection, 19 preset modes, Includes: 1 GB SD-card, charger, 2 rechargeable batteries , picture editing software and a USB cable. It cost $80.00 . Can anyone possibly tell me if that would be a good deal and if it is a good type of a digital camera please. Thanks for your time and have a great day.

We saw it in the Aldi's ad. The sale starts today and I get pd. tomorrow, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that there will be some left. Thank-you both for the info.

I like the cameras that use AA batteries if that helps any.Much easier to deal with battery issues that way.

I got a new digital camera the other day, it's a Kodak easyshare, Z1012 IS. it is High Def. 12x opitcal zoom, 10.1 mega pixels. I love it so far except for one thing. The videos I do on it, the format of them are not supported by my computer. So I can watch them but cannot put them on DVD's. Other than that, I love it. It is so fast. I had a Sanyo, 5.0 megapixels, 3x optical zoom, but it is soooo slow!! I missed alot of pics with it. But my computer would copy the video from it. I gave it to my son, but I will continue to use it to do video and my new one for pics.

Hay Jeanette, was that camera drinking and fell off the bar stool onto the cement floor? digital cameras are coming down in price. That sounds like a pretty good one for the price. I would buy it and check it out. You can always take it back if it does not work out for you. I have a Kodak C300 that I bought about 3 years ago. Don't think they make them any longer. If you are planning on taking a lot of pics, I would recommend buying a 1 or 2 gig memory card. I an waiting for the 4 gig card to go on sale and I am gonna buy one. That way I will never fill up the card.

Jeanette, that sounds like a good camera, better than what my other one was. Mine was so slow and I take soooo many pics. I take lots of pics of kids and I they would move before the camera took the pic. But it took excellant pics. This new one was $239, alot for a camera but I love my pics. I try to keep mine around my neck when I am drinking or in motion. The other day when we went to Caveman's, I had it around my neck when I went over the hill to get our dogs collar and leash(long story), and I fell on a rock and bruised my tailbone, but as I fell, I slung my camera around my neck to my back and it was fine, lol!!

Lucy, I hope you are ok. Sounds like you took a bad tumble. When you put the memory card in the camera, it will format it the way it needs it. What format are you thinking about?

Thanks, it still hurts whenever I sit down but I was more concerned with my dog and my camera than me at the time. As for now, I sit down carefully. Something like avi or mpeg. My computer has Vista and I tried Windows Media Player and cyberlink power producer and NTI CD and DVD maker but all 3 said that format was not supported. It automatically saves them as mov and none of my programs support that. My old camera saves them as avi and they all support it. But I can't figure out how to change the format.

You could use an online file converter Lucy. This is one that I have used successfully.... www.mediaconverter.org/Whilst this is also a good one.... media-convert.com/Obviously a broadband connection is an advantage but not essential as it will just work in the background whilst you're doing something else.

Thanks Spruance. A woman at the Wal-Mart photo center told me a couple places to try. I downloaded one after the other programs and none would work. So I quit. The next night, I went to internet explorer and typed in mediaplayers.com. And the very first thing that popped up said, change your mov format to avi format and I downloaded it in like 2 min. and it works. I am so happy!! I am making DVD's left and right. Caveman, I will send you a copy of the one I make of our trip there!! But don't forget I am coming back to see the ladders and indian graves. So I will have to make another one!!
