cm , I had to settle for some corned beef brisket that the wife found for real cheap.........It turned out to be fairly tough but that just meant the pleasure and flavor lasts longer ! The taters & peas from the local food bank topped off the meal.... Soon , I will get the chance to enjoy some elk meat. One walked out in front of me and commited suicide. I couldn't hold the gun steady but God guided my bullet. This is the truth ! My challenges almost made it impossible for me to even go hunting. Let alone even get lucky like that.....Long , long sob story that I won't repeat.... But I did & do thank God for the gift !

I'm happy ya got an elk bs.......we're getting more and more elk around here. Kentucky has a drawing for the elk hunt, but i don't have to worry about that......i live in the buffer zone, i pay an extra 30 bucks for the tag and if i see one during deer season i can take it. I saw two 4X4's the other day, but had no gun and it's not gun season for deer here.

Now I love elk but haven't had any in a long time, buffalo is even better for me, and BSCAMO next tough piece you get if you have the time just stick it in the slow cooker for, say six to eight hours and its all tender. God inspired clow cookers for all tough cuts that slipped by. And I'm real happy for you that you had that good fortune. Enjoy the spoils but don't let it spoil lol.

Buffalo is very good too ! I've had the opportunity to have good moose meat a few times in the past. It's even better ! I've heard from several friends that Dall Sheep provide the best eating of any meat. I've never had the chance to eat it. It is tough for me to see if meat is tough at 1st look....but I have used slow cooking for cuts I know are tough. Cm , I hope an elk crosses the line where you get a chance at one ! Some Native Americans , and others , believe that if a successful hunter gives an elk ivory to a bro from a bull elk , that the bro will have better luck in their hunting season. I can't mail you an ivory , but , I'll try and see if giving you a pic of some will bring you luck with your hunting success : Please let me know if this "long shot" attempt works... I've got one I could mail to you later for next season ....if you're interested.....

Hey - wait just one cotton pickin' minute - you mean you ain't never shot a deer or hog out the living room or kitchen window? (Just remember to OPEN the winder first....) Naw , never had the chance OOB. But I do have a friend who remembered the window , but , the screen didn't survive..... AND his wife didn't like the rude awakening at 6:00 AM. It also took weeks for the smell of burnt gunpowder to clear out of the house. Fortunately , his attached garage had a wood stove in it.
