Doug got quite a start his weekend when he tried to get his bait bucket out for the year. There is a bird's nest in there- with 2 or 3 eggs! I told him probably a wren. What do y'all think? She has been back since he scared her away the other day, but wasn;t there when I took the pics..... That's the best I can get. Hard to get good pics inside a bait bucket

Looks like a carolina wrens nest, they do build in odd places like old shoes, bait buckets, clothespins bags. I assume the eggs have some slight speckling to them too. How big is the second nest? Could very well be a warbler or any of a number of others such as catbird, flycatcher, vireo.

They have a speckled look to them. I'm afraid to stick my head too close in case momma comes flying out and don't wanna keep going back- I'm afraid of scaring her off ;D
It is about 3 or so inches across. All twigs, no leaves or anything I can see in it. Could it be a mockingbird? I have lots of them here...Not sure about those other types...

3 inches sounds more like a warbler I cant find a description on the size of a catbird nest. But in this pic it looks like 5 or 6" "Nest in dense shrubs, small trees, and vines. Nest a bulky cup made of twigs, bark, straw, mud, and sometimes paper and plastic. Lined with rootlets, fine grass, or hair."
