We have a 95 ford windstar with a keyless starter, black box under the dash with bout a thousand wires that has been giving trouble for sometime but today it just won't start any more. Dash lights come on but just doesn't crank. I tried to cross the wires to the little button at bottom of dash but same result. Someone said to try shorting the solinoid but haven't tried that yet. This is ford factory it seems. Does anyone know if there is a way to bypass the remote? They also said those things are a royal pain when they give trouble. Any help appreciated. Had to change this to the proper department case anyone has read it previously.

Not too sure but that black box may be the brain to your vehicle, I wouldn't mess around with it. I'll do some searching.

Yea it says right on the box"remote keyless entry" and with all the wires I know nothing about I'm leary. It goes to a clicker door opener and alarm which hasn't worked for at least a year or more. Any input is appreciated Douglas. Thanks.

Well Douglas if you did any searching and for answering thank for sure. Someone today told me to rub the battery cables together to clear the computer or repeatedly turn the switch on and off awhile. Also to cut the wires to the little button and tape them together and leave them. Then forget pushing the button anymore. I did the last and the switch thing and it did in fact start. Now it honks 3 times after it starts every time but I can live with that. I also typed my problem in google search and came up with one of several sites where master mechanics answer questions and it is a really good site, very helpful.
