Click START, then click on My Computer, hit properties on local C drive, click on tools, click the error checking and a small box will pop up, Check the (SCAN FOR AND ATTEMPT RECOVERY OF BAD SECTORS). This may take some time to run all depending how much you have on your hard drive. You will not lose any work you saved on your PC.
