This is Doc........he was in a pit fight.......don't know if he won but, he got hurt perty bad, so, now he's another one of my rescues. He lost an eye but, he is doin much better after i gave him Penny....here she is

They seem to get along good...........so...........i'll let her go settin and get some biddy's from'em.

Yeah, i'll take care of Doc........he's still not up to par..........must have been in a gaff fight and got hurt deep inside..........penny is doin ok but, i gotta saw her spurs.......they are too long and she breaks her eggs when she goes on the nest............yep, i'll post some pics, but it's gonna be awhile.

Doc is doin better today..........his "crow" is much stronger, longer and louder.......yep, i think he's gonna be ok.

He sure is a good looking bird, Before ya know it you will have a yard full of them! The hens make such good mothers and the roos just look majestic. I'm glad he is in good, safe hands.

I have another cock here that is on free run and i need to catch him.........he's got bumblefoot and i need to doctor him........i'm too fat to climb the tree he roosts in..lol

How sad that such a beautiful rooster was used for fighting. I bet he thinks he is in Heaven now to have someone who cares for him and has given him a girlfriend, too! Bless you for rescuing him!

Some strange stuff goin on here................first, Doc is nowhere to be found and yesterday i found Penny dead on her nest.........no wounds or anything. Don't know where to start lookin for a cause.

Oh my! How terrible. Not some hungry animal, or all you would have found was feathers and feet. Maybe she had something wrong with her insides, and you couldn't tell by looking at her. Hope old doc is just wondering around, and he'll come back to eat.

Still no Doc and Penny was nice and healthy layin her eggs to hatch..........i thought maybe a snake bite, but nothin showin on here antwhere.
As for Doc..........could be one of many critters around here that got him...........i have'nt been able to get out and look after the surgery.
