well to compare, mine is 13 years old the harddrive in this one here...320GB hard drive mine is 10 gb. hard drive you should never have a capacity issue sounds like a great puter der Trudy... Only changes I'd want them to do would be remove all traces of Norton and go with AVG-free edition Anti-virus...the norton will expire and you'll constantly be hounded for MONEY$$ shouldn't be a biggy, tell em you'll buy it ifin they change that, or if you don't mind paying for it ...go with it.

A couple pholks at work today were saying the Vista package was a pain in the but an it has lots of bugs that aren't worked out yet. Yawl know anything about that? Any problems yawl know about? Thanks, T I don't know Trudy, I would think that Vista, factory installed (oem) would work fine. The problems with Vista have been in the upgrades to vista, many problems, and most older computers, like mine, would need so many other components upgraded that it would be cheaper to buy a new computer...If you have any doubts, ask them if they'll install windows Xp, home or professional. I'll see if I can find out anymore, meanwhile maybe someone else will have an answer for you.

Well Trudy, I've heard the same thing. I just picked up a new laptop phor Aunt Bonnie and our IT contractor did not recommend Vista yet. He said not only does it take more memory to run but it does still have a phew bugs that will most definitely be phixed in the phirst service pack. As a result we ordered this one with Windows XP.
But when XP came out pholks were saying some of the same things about it, so I guess it's just one of those decisions each individual has to make.
One thing I would say though would be to ask someone that has Vista how they like it. The thing I have found is that the pholks that say they don't like it or that it has problems don't even have it.

Windows Vista does have its bugz. BUT as Jim said so did XP at its release. As we speak there are testers trying Vista service pak 2. Not a big deal cuz all OS's have their little glitches.
Being a new PC with Vista installed you will be phine. Ive heard both good an bad bout Vista T.
As Phil said dump yer Norton. Its a SYSTEM HOG,leaves bits an pieces everywhere in yer PC.
Id go for it!! Overall you'll get a good PC at a good price

Well, I was on a smaller budget so I got an acer by aspire computer. It has Windows Vista and I hate it. I hooked my old Hp with windows xp up in the extra bedroom, lol. A lot of the features I loved about XP, I don't have with Vista. Of course I got my old computer when XP came out. So I am used to it. Hope I learn to like this one too.

Well we decided after going into the Circuit City store an Walmart an see what was out there an talking to several folks it seems Vista is all we could find down here an seems its well liked. So Lucy I wound up getting the Acer with Vista. Got it going Friday night an downloaded Mozilla Firefox an when it was time to restart for activation I don't know what happened but it hasn't worked since. I called the Acer folks an they say I have a corrupt hard drive an are sending me 2 disk that won't be here til Tues or Weds. cuz of the holiday. The site said it was compatible with Vista, so I don't know what happened. We hooked up my old putor temporarily an is what I'm using now just to get online. I hope I don't regret my decision on the Acer. When it was all said an done I still spend just under $800 with the printer, an separate floppy drive. T
