After waiting and waiting and anticipating and thinking it was starting, Buttercup finally gave birth to this pretty little heifer, 45 minutes before her due date of today.... She is a very large calf especially for a first time Jersey like buttercup, she had some troubles with the delivery so we ended up having to pull the cal. But they are both doing well this morning... Now we can finally get the cow share program going here. MMMmmm fresh jersy milk, it don't get any better than this. Here's Mom this morning.

Nice looking calf there BriarHill. Pulling sure ain't no phun I know that. My dad and I had a sunday from hell one year. Had to pull 13 calves (dads choice of bulls wasn't the best) and 9 of those were breech. Glad to hear they're both doing well.

Oh what a lovely looking calf! Oh cool fresh raw milk! I would love to have a milking Jersey cow! I'd use the milk, besides drinking and butter ect for making soap! Nothing like homemade milk soap!

What a pretty calf. We used to live on a dairy farm and had some Jerseys. Such rich milk from delicate pretty cows.
