oh i know all about the little helpers.. i've got two big floppy, rolly toms, then i have one that has to bat and paw at everything.. including the rake and the hoe... then there is puss puss.. she is a very beautiful longhaired orange cat with big orange eyes.. but, she is a wild cat.. she got sick as a kitten, so sick, in fact that she let me help her.. i started calling her snaggle puss because she looked so bad.. she returned to the wild so to speak, but i think she remembered that i helped her, so she started lurking in the bushes sort of stalking me, in a good way, she is so orange that she about glows, she always thought i couldn't see her but i could so i'd sneak up on her and say "puss puss puss" she'd jump about a foot in the air and run.. well you know what they say about paybacks, now she hids in the tall grass and leaps out in front of the lawn mower.. scares me every time.. i swear i can almost hear her laughing..

i've been watering too... can't water the fields though.. we were about to drink the mexican booze jack's girl friend brought us back from her trip to mexico, take all our clothes off and do a rain dance... i think we should have done it.. there is water standing in the fields not 5 miles from us... we didn't get a drop... i've been so busy, lets see, schools out, the pool is open, i am almost done mowing the grass.. been dragging the blasted hose around.. oh how i hate that.. the kittens are ruining all the flowers i have planted.. as is the case every summer.. tippy overson kitty fell out of a tree the other day...i'm not sure why she goes up there.. once she spent a day and a half up there before some one found her..

Well Phoks it's been a mad house around here since the Friday before Memorial Day weekend.Hate these 14 and 16 hour days. Monday morning we pretty much finished up the gardens. Got the sweet corn replanted. Got two 2200 square foot patches and a 600 foot patch planted. Got some free seed but didn't know it was ten years old. O'well got a nice bucket with a lid. Sweet corn didn't germinate. Put six trailer loads of peat on one of the sweet corn plots to see if it will help loosen the clay up some. Put u the fences to keep those cucumbers in and two forty foot fences for the pole beans. Mona says she is going to put a shock collar on me when I go to wally world garden department. Went in and found a bunch of dahlias, cannas, elephant ears, glads and a bunch of others for a quarter a piece. You know how it is. 20 cannas for a quarter. Can't pass those deals up. Well on Monday when we went in to get the sweet corn seed. She found calla lilies that you buy one package of three you got three more packages for free. I don't complain when she buys so why my purchases? This fall when I dig dahlias you all can have a bunch as got tired of two hundred and fifty feet of dahlias. Took me well over a hour to plant em. Neighbor gave us a bunch of plants. Sweet potatoes which we haven't grown for several years. Muskmelon plants and cucumbers and lettuce plants. She just lost her husband to cancer and says haven't got time to garden now. Spent the day yesterday at da hospital, was on the road for nine hours to see the doctor for 1/2 hour, boy was that a waste a time. But got to see a lot a nice gardens down and back.

He is tied up for the spring/summer or he would be helping us where we dont need to.. he had a dead one by him last year..no visable sign's of dog kill..just dead..kinda like it was napping by him..didn't roll on it or smell..

It's real dry here too, but they are saying we might get some T storms today. I hope so! The lawn is looking kinda brown. I got lots of cracks to fall into too. But, I only have to mow about every 10 days, so that's pretty good. And I just did that on Friday, so I should be good til after Father's Day!

What gets me is that today the fire department had a hose hooked on an hydrant by a building and there must have been a stream going down the street from a leak and I thought about all that precious water going down da drain
