Heres a little info on morals. They are the largest growing oph the fungi phamily. The mycelium grows under ground at an exponential rate. The largest "body" or colony found to date covers over 50 square miles. Incredible. The mushrooms that we pick are the "air intake" for the fungi. That is why they have hollow stems and a full cap. The cap is an air"filter" and the stem is like an air tube. The fungus only takes in oxygen for a very short time each year, and sets to covering more underground space. Farmers have done considerable damage with the use of chemicals, to these colonies. Since most patches are near fields or the streams containing field run off.It is said that some of the colonies studied are hundreds of years old! Well thats all the knowledge I have phor today, my two typeing fingers sre getting tired

HHmmm Phil and Laura live south from me I live on the "Arrowhead " of Minnesota near Lake Superior. I think you could say Phil, Laura & I live in the same state but not really near each other. Does that make sence? Knowing my luck, I'd be pickin' the wrong kind of morels and end up higher then a kite!
