These are my Australian blue pumpkins pollinated almost a week ago can make great dishes from these I wonder if they were crossed pollinated with one of my Atlantic giant pumpkins The leaves sure look like it, and the vines as well

That would be the type we have too Bro...we bought one at a farmers Market and extracted the seed...that variety is growing fast and strong!

Mine started off fast as well, and the vines seem to be fairly thick. I tried cross pollinating a Atlantic giant with one that seems to be taking, wonder what the seed will be like next year Maybe they will be large blue green pumpkins next year

One pumpkin is going to bloom tomorrow morning, only phound ONE male flower so far opening the same day. With the heat, it may give me problems seeing they pollinate better on cool mornings

shape be all governed by genetics Bro...since they are the same type...Momma punkin could have gotten crossed with something Possibly the vines had it held tight to the ground and it just formed under slight pressure... Ifin you can free some vine, sit it on it's blossom end and see ifin it does any good...no need to say "carefully" huh Bro... dat darn SNAPPING sound is sickenin'

I know I still will have to watch fer squash bugs as well

I know I still will have to watch fer squash bugs as well they come out of the soil from mid-June through July Bro...so..a couple more weeks... but, then again, everything here...bugs included...are a coupla weeks ahead of schedule...so maybe they are too and their emerging and plant eating stage...is, all ready over... maybe ya could dig around some and see ifin ya find any that are still underground unhatched...I hear they are a fuzzy type coccoon
