We went to Texas Roadhouse this afternoon and had a filet. Seems like back in the day a filet mignon wouldn't have fat on it. Not so lately. Yuck.

This is the second conversation I heard about a suspicious cut of meat.... Many fancy, and some not so fancy spots are doing this on a regular basis... Sheri you may have been a victim of FAKE MEAT Filet Mignon is cut from the small end of the tenderloin, So very lean..no fat..the Bacon you find wrapped around it is for fat to cook it in....This looks GREAT...but it's actually meat scraps...held together with MEAT GLUEFilet mignon is the most popular meat glued together by transglutaminase, or "meat glue."Many, many restaurants and food suppliers are doing this now a days....Check out the story here www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2012/05/meat_glue_can_turn_cheap_beef.html

I have heard of that before Pharmer Phil! They had a whole segment on the news one day. They fed some to the news anchor and he couldn't tell the difference. No wonder people are having gut issues. They have to wear masks and everything eles when they handle that glue.
Dave had mac and Cheese with sausage I just had sausage and eggs , had to use up the last of the sausage.
