;D Look's like we will have to go out & feed them again. The lil finch's have been feeding heavily. Even have a Purple one here this A.M.. The peanut feeder need's to be re-filled for the Woodpecker's & Nuthatches. Suet is getting smaller. Peanutbutter feeder is EMPTY. We go through ALOT of food for the Bird's in the winter. But we enjoy them GREATLY!!

I feed mine year round down here Laura. Go through about 25# sunflower seed each week. The darn raccoons and possums feed at night~annoys me, but I can't do anything to stop them and I want the birds to stay so I feed them anyway. We have a lot of doves, cardinals, titmouse, some chickadees, wrens, blue jays and lately we have the little yellow canaries. Lots of them. That is unusual. In the past they have appeared for the last week of Feb or first week of March and never hung around more than a week or two. I've also seen a couple of bob-white quail here too. Those were fluke sitings though. Just passin' thru I think!

We go through about 50 lbs. a month. Every so often I will get some Special treat seed's hoping to get the Cardinal's here to stay but they are terribly shy. The Blue Jay's pretty much keep them away. No Rare bird's here tho. We are just happy to have them here eating!! ;D ;D

Isn't it funny how that works? We hardly have any blue jays and cardinals are our primary along with the mourning doves.

:4-dontkno Must depend on where you live as to what kind of birdie's you have. Wish we had the Cardinal' & less Jay's. We have the Woodpecker's sounding on the house this morning. Finches are feeding heavily. Have their food bag hanging by the window, Morris has a stool there & he is all hunched down watching them.. It's really cute. Angel

Angel I've got a pair of Purple finches feeding today. Been here all morning. I am going to have to get some more seed today as they will run out by the end of the day!! Gave them the rest of what I had here. Filled the peanut butter feeder & gave them some of the Special food. Morris is really watching the Bird's today. He has his lil head pressed right up against the window!! Angel

We have been seeing a lot of Robins for this time of year. Usually it is early spring before we see them. I can't wait for the humming birds to come back. I love to watch them.

Dap, where do you live that you get canaries? We don't see them even in the summer time. I was shocked last summer to see a Baltimore Oriole hanging upside down on my finch feeder. I don't see that many, we hear them but they are shy and feed really quick usually. Must have been an oddball Oriole. Lol.

Me too..Our Jay's here dont put up with much from any of the other Bird's. They will back down to the Woodpecker's. We have one that is here all the time..He is a big Bird..He will eat for a bit & then do his sounding on the HOUSE!!! If the 2 are at the feeder's at the same time the old Woodpecker win's & the Jay has to wait!!

Well, shoot Laura, that's no fun. They do that here too. When the snow melts and they can find some other stuff sometimes they leave for a bit. I have heard that they are fussy about their seed, if it should happen to get some mold or something. Here I have a net pouch and it gets rained and snowed on and they don't seem to care so who knows. I am sure you take care of your bird feeders and seed, anyway. hope the little sweeties come back.
