Have a pork butt in the smoker and a beef roast ready for the oven. With the roast, baked sweetpotato's and turnip greens. Maybe some cornbread. CF

Yea I don't drink much. I used to be able to drink a beer now and again. I was Miller Lite, because it was under 100 calories. Haha now no beer for me!! Then someone said I could drink Corn Whisky. I was like umm but I am not a drinker and now Corn Whisky? What? So when I was out of town my friend bought me some "Makers Mark. I am not going to drink it. Specially with Soda .. Too many calories for me!! And like I said I am not a drinker!! And now I cannot tolerate corn products. I am sure I cannot drink it if I wanted to! I will stick to my hard water! Thanks

Ruth and I just had some home made split pea soup, we made a 4# batch so there will be plenty for caning. It is the best batch we have ever made.....seams like the larger batches we make the better they taste. Glad we got this new pressure caner.

Thanks so much Joe and Ruth...and Floss say's double thanks for the garlic. Ralph: You and Flossie are so very welcome,it is indeed our pleasure. I hope this up comming season turns out better then last, I have lots of beans to plant for drying. We just finished pressure caning a batch of split pea soup, all the jars came out fine all sealed and no cracks or brakes. We are having smoked pork chops split pea soup smashed taters and home made gravey for supper, our nephew is comming to eat with us. The pork chops are from the loin I smoked the other day. OH almost forgot the most important thing we are also making corn bread. I think I have two more batches of beans left for the winter. That's equal to about 16 quarts of finished been soup, more then enough to get us threw winter, and share with family.

Hey what can I say beans and gas are natural, like ya say Whats a little gas Ruth may not agree though, she claims I always wait for her to be in the room dtb Made beef stew yesterday and caned 7 qts. today for future use. I planing on making bean soup next week. We will be well stocked for winter after that. This new pressure caner is getting a good workout. We also made our own hamburger patties yesterday and froze them. Those we vacuum seal for spring and summer, when beef is on sale that's when we buy. I'm glad we can grow all the vegetables we need threw the season fore our use,Ive pretty much given up on growing for others as far as sales go,it never seams to workout for us.

Supper for us tonight is a tuna sammich! Period. We are exhausted & need a break. Did the indoor market today & did fair. Sold some stuff..came home & relaxed. We are in the relax mode for the next 36 hours. Will go to work Monday early & come home & maybe I will have to punch the time clock on Tuesday..maybe not? We don't know until the same day..or the day before. We really need a break!
